To the patients of Dr. Akin-Deko

​

A few months ago, I shared news of an upcoming transition in my professional journey and introduced Dr. Claire Latremouille as the physician who would be gradually taking over my practice.  At that time, we were pleased to have found someone we believed would be a good fit for our clinic community.

​

However, I want to let you now that since that announcement, Dr. Latremouille has made the decision to pursue opportunities elsewhere and will not be joining the practice at Cole Harbour Family Medicine.  While this was unexpected, we respect her decision and sincerely wish her all the best in her future endeavors.

​

I understand this may raise questions or concerns, and I want to reassure you that I remain committed to your care.  Although I am still planning to transition out of my role, I will not be leaving the clinic until we find the right physician to take over my patient panel.  Your continuity of care remains a top priority for both myself and our team.

​

As I gradually reduce my clinic hours, there may be some increased wait times for routine or non-urgent appointments.  We appreciate your patience and understanding during this transition.   That said, same-day and urgent appointments will continue to be available - but we kindly ask that these be used for truly urgent concerns, to ensure timely care for those who need it most.

​

Our staff is also closely tracking appointments wait times, and if delays begin to exceed what we feel is reasonable, we will do our best to open up additional availability to help meet demand.  Your patience and understanding during this time is deeply appreciated.

​

Our clinic manager is working hard to find the right physician to join our team and provide you with high-quality, long-term care.  We will keep you informed of any updates as we move forward.
